Marku Gouws rose to the challenge, offering interior design advice and practical help in achieving the Skordi’s goals. He translated their ideas and expectations into a series of Opulent Urban Sanctuary mood boards that take inspiration from two powerful styles: glamorous Art Deco and ornamental, opulent Hollywood Regency. Dark and light tones play alongside soft finishes in both pastels and saturated jewel colours. Textural detail, including the repetitive pattern of geometric mosaic work, provides dimension and visually striking, touchable surfaces.

Fascinating mirrors reflect smart lighting solutions, amplify tiling details and highlight the existing decorative ceiling cornices. Black and white has been used to great effect, with touches of gold. There is a pleasing symphony of matt and high gloss surfaces. Elegant, contemporary sanware. Tapware with urban edge.
