Introducing Award-winning Form by Ceramica Sant’Agostino.

October 5, 2023

A reinvestigation of the built environment’s most ubiquitous material. Designed to elevate future-conscious spaces.

Winner of the Archiproducts Design Award in 2020, Sant’Agostino’s Form range is an exciting and prestigious addition to Italtile’s cement-look porcelain tile collection. The inspiration behind the range is exposed concrete; by which we mean concrete whose surface is a purposely visible part of the architectural and interior design of a building, with a texture created by contact with the wooden formwork. The unfinished look serves to enhance the muscular nature of modern architecture.

The revival of exposed concrete gained traction during the 1990s as a reaction to the perceived ‘flimsiness’ of the architecture of the time; designers of modernist and minimalist spaces see a powerful beauty in what many previously termed ‘brutal’. At the Sant’Agostino lab, experimentation with the sculptural and constructivist nature of exposed concrete gave birth to Form .

Form makes a raw, monolithic statement like no other cement-look tile range and finds its expression at the intersection of elegant porcelain and muscular concrete, with the visible, textural imprint of the wooden formwork. At 600 x 1200mm, these large format tiles are able to fully explore and reimagine the spectacular beauty of both the graphic and chromatic richness of raw cement.

Thanks to extraordinary technology, the flat surface of the tiles manages to achieve the multidimensional effect of the pockmarked embossing and cavities typical of real cement.

Form is available in both natural R10 and slip-resistant R11 finishes, with 40 faces. This is an unusually large number of faces, which will immeasurably enhance the sense of authenticity and realism, with almost no repetition of graphic design.

Form has rectified edges, which are precision cut to achieve uniformity. This consistency ensures neat installation with fewer, minimal grout lines. The near seamless finish is both beautiful to look at and easy to maintain. The range is non-absorbent and hygienic, with a Class 5-foot traffic resistance.

Form by Ceramica Sant’Agostino is another Italtile exclusive. With its rigorously sustainable EcoQuality credentials, Form will carry Italtile’s LiveGreen label.
