A tribute to one of our top women on National Women’s Day.

The Italtile Group supports the empowerment of women and to this end continues to encourage and build the careers of all female employees, from the most junior intern to our top senior leaders. It is appropriate then, that on the day our country honours the contribution of the women of South Africa, we at Italtile Commercial pay tribute to one of our top agents: Catherine Brown.

Catherine brings a powerful and dynamic blend of project management skills, technical expertise and strong design aesthetic to the table, and has had oversight of some of our most prestigious Commercial collaboration projects.

Her latest completed project is Lynnwood Bridge, a stand-out retail precinct in Pretoria East that has attracted an exciting mix of entertainment, retailers, and restaurants to create a unique visitor experience.

Catherine worked together with the architects of Studio 3 Design House and Attacq Developers and had specific oversight of the choice of tiles, sanitaryware and finishes for the public male bathroom, the public female bathroom, the paraplegic bathroom, and the family bathroom. The collaboration with Italtile Commercial kicked off in August 2018 and was completed in December 2018.

Tiles: Catherine proposed a base tone of contemporary greige, using Ceramica Sant’Agostino’s luxe porcelain Shadestone tiles, finished with a Shadestone décor tile on the walls. This is a special order tile range, exclusive to Italtile Commercial.

Taupe Natural: 600 x 600; slip-resistant 600 x 600 and 150 x 600; lapatto 600 x 600 and 150 x 600; Taupe Mix décor tile: 600 x 600

The contrast was created with crisp, clean Uptown White 300 x 600, and the modern tones of Digital Art Denim: 300 x 600, 150 x 300, and Digital Art Ecru: 300 x 600

Mosaics: Splashbacks were enhanced with the Bahamas Natural Stone Mosaic.
